Building GENI-ORCA

1. Create a work directory and change into it.

mkdir orca

cd orca

2. Retrieve the bootstrap directory from subversion.

svn co https://geni-orca.renci.org/svn/orca/pom/trunk pom

This will create the subdirectory pom in the current directory.

Note: The ORCA directory structure and these instructions support versions of subversion before 1.5, which didn't have shallow extractions. Thus some of the instructions may seem unusual to svn 1.5+ users.

3. Move back up from the pom directory and soft link to the build.xml and pom.xml files

cd ..

ln -s pom/build.xml build.xml

ln -s pom/build.pom.xml pom.xml

4. Use ant to get the source.

ant get.all

5. Build and install all code in the local maven repository

mvn install

6. Initialize the webapp tree.

cd webapp

ant copy.local

cd ..

7. Package the webapp

"cd webapp"

"mvn package"
